INTRODUCTION :
Heavens Mercy and Grace are mostly needed in a Christian race . It’s a divine privilege that a child of God should yearn for. HEAVENS MERCY AND GRACE are the wheels that takes us to the destination and drives us to the position that Heaven designed for us.
WHAT IS MERCY ?
I will like to define the word Mercy in different ways;
* Is the compassion or forgiveness shown towards someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm .
The ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ was full of Mercy and compassion. Act 9:-15
* Mercy is the greatest relative Characteristics of God and the attributes He extends over all He created. Isa 49:10 , Isa 54: 10 , Matt 9:36 , Luk 7:13
* Mercy is the Nature of God . Psm 145:8-9 , 2Corith 1:3
* Mercy is when Heaven stops you from suffering and discomfort . Isa 41:10, Rev 21:4 , psm 107 :19-21
* Mercy is when an addicted sinner receives a bright future in Christ. Isa1:8, Isa 43:25-26 * Mercy is when God did not punish us as our sins deserves.
WHAT DOES MERCY DO IN THE LIFE OF A CHRISTIAN ?
1. It gives us freedom and deliverance from judgement. Heb 8: 12 , Zach 10:6
2. It gives us an automatic freedom from defeat . Hosea 1:7
3. It sets us free from all forms of discouragements . Psm 102:13
4. It removes fear from our heart/Life. Exo 33:19
5. It comes to us without limit and its available to all . 1 Timo 2: 6
6. It saves us from suffering from the consequences of our actions . psm 51: 1-2, matt 18 :26
7. God’s mercy always backs His plans up in ourlives.Psm89:24,28,psm20:20-23I will also like to briefly talk about the word GRACE
.
WHAT IS GRACE ?
GRACE is commonly said to be the un- merited favour of God . Other definitions ar e ad follows :
* Grace is Gods blessings on us despite the fact that we do not deserve it .
* Grace is an act of extending kindness to the un-worthy .
* Grace is a Divine instrument that washes away our past .
WHAT DOES GRACE DO IN THE LIFE OF A CHRISTIAN ?
1. Common Grace is a kind of grace given to all by God , is being given to the good or bad, believer or an unbeliever.
2. Saving Grace is the strength available for us to saved . Eph2:8-9
3. Sanctifying Grace gives you an eternal satisfaction in the Christian race therefore makes you not to loose focus . Phil 1 : 6
4. Sustaining Grace enables you to run the race without being wounded or caught unawares and then leads you to reign with Christ in eternal glory. Heb 4 : 16 , 2 corith 12:9
5. Serving Grace makes you to serve God dedicatedly without using anyone as a yardstick. 1 pet 4: 10
6. Gods Grace qualifies the called and backs himup.
CONCLUSION:
Grace and Mercy of God are what a Christian that is genuinely saved cannot do without. God is ready to show you His Mercy and endow His Grace upon you in as much as you can fear Him as your Lord and saviour. Brethren, Gods Grace is greater than all our Sins .
